पठित-अवबोधनम् – गद्यांश-आधारित-प्रश्नोत्तरम्

CBSE Class 10 Sanskrit (Communicative) syllabus includes ‘पठित-अवबोधनम्’ which focuses on the comprehension of seen prose passages. This section aims to evaluate a student’s ability to understand the text, extract information, and analyze linguistic elements within it.

महत्त्वपूर्ण-बिन्दवः (Key Points for Comprehension)

• पठित-गद्यांशम् सम्यक् पठन्तु: सर्वप्रथमं प्रदत्तं गद्यांशं द्विवारं त्रिवारं वा अवधानेन पठन्तु। शब्दानामर्थान् वाक्यभावं च अवगन्तुं प्रयत्नं कुर्वन्तु। (Read the seen passage carefully: First, read the given passage two or three times with attention. Try to understand the meaning of words and the sentiment of sentences.)
• प्रश्नानां स्वरूपम् अवगच्छन्तु: प्रश्नाः त्रयः मुख्यतया भवन्ति – एकपदेन उत्तरत, पूर्णवाक्येन उत्तरत, तथा भाषाकार्यम्। प्रत्येकस्य प्रश्नस्य उत्तरदान-रीतिः भिन्ना भवति। (Understand the nature of questions: Questions are mainly of three types – answer in one word, answer in a full sentence, and language tasks. The method of answering each question is different.)

प्रश्नप्रकाराः (Types of Questions)

1. एकपदेन उत्तरत (Answer in One Word): अत्र केवलं प्रश्नसम्बद्धं मुख्यपदं लिख्यताम्। अनावश्यकं वाक्यं न लिखन्तु। (Here, write only the main word related to the question. Do not write unnecessary sentences.)
2. पूर्णवाक्येन उत्तरत (Answer in Full Sentence): अस्मिन् प्रश्ने सम्पूर्णं वाक्यं लिखित्वा उत्तरं देयम्। प्रश्नपदानि परिवर्तनं कृत्वा मूलगद्यांशात् एव उत्तरं शोधयन्तु। (In this question, the complete sentence should be written as the answer. Change the question words and find the answer from the original passage itself.)
3. भाषाकार्यम् (Language Tasks): एते प्रश्नाः व्याकरणसम्बद्धाः भवन्ति, यथा –
   • कर्तृपद-क्रियापद-सम्बन्धः: क्रियायाः कर्ता कः? अथवा कस्य क्रियायाः कर्तृपदं किम्? (Subject-Verb Relation: Who is the doer of the action? Or what is the subject of which verb?)
   • विशेषण-विशेष्य-भावः: कस्य पदस्य विशेषणं किम्? अथवा कस्य विशेषणस्य विशेष्यं किम्? (Adjective-Noun Relation: What is the adjective of which word? Or what is the noun described by which adjective?)
   • पर्यायपदानि: समानार्थकपदानि। (Synonyms: Words with similar meaning.)
   • विपरीतार्थकपदानि: विपरीतार्थकपदानि। (Antonyms: Words with opposite meaning.)
   • सर्वनाम-प्रयोगः: ‘तस्मै’, ‘सः’, ‘तेन’ इत्यादीनि पदानि कस्मै प्रयुक्तानि? (Pronoun Usage: To whom are words like ‘tasmai’, ‘sah’, ‘tena’ used?)

उदाहरणम् – कर्तृपद-क्रियापद-सम्बन्धः (Example – Subject-Verb Relation)

शीघ्र-पुनरावलोकनम् (Quick Revision)

• गद्यांशं ध्यानपूर्वकं पठन्तु। (Read the passage carefully.)
• प्रश्नानां प्रकारम् अवगच्छन्तु। (Understand the type of questions.)
• भाषाकार्य-प्रश्नानां कृते व्याकरणनियमान् स्मरन्तु। (Recall grammar rules for language tasks.)
• उत्तराणि गद्यांशात् एव लिखन्तु, स्वबुद्ध्या परिवर्तनं मा कुरुत। (Write answers directly from the passage, do not change them with your own intellect.)
• समयव्यवस्थापनं कुर्वन्तु। (Manage time effectively.)
